Calculating Volumetric weights
Large, lightweight packages are charged at their volumetric weight for the space they occupy rather than their weight.
To calculate the volume in meters, multiply length by width by height. Then multiply this figure by the relevant conversion factor (250 For All TNT Direct Services).
For example, to calculate the volumetric weight of a shipment sent within the UK using the dimensions shown in the illustration, you would multiply:
Box.

Length | 0.9m | |
Width | 0.4m | |
X | Height | 0.3m |
0.108 | ||
X | (conversion factor) | 250 |
Volumetric weight equals | 27kg |
Cylinder.

Diameter | 0.3m | |
Height | 0.4m | |
X | Diameter | 0.3m |
0.036 | ||
X | (conversion factor) | 250 |
Volumetric weight equals | 9kg |
